Gimme some ink

It's time to pimp my rear skins. This means transforming the humble garage into a state-of-the-art paint booth.

I don't usually let anyone see the high tech whiz-bangery that is The Paint Cave, but I'm leaking these pics anyway because I'm working on a Paint Cave mkII which will render (pun intended) this one obsolete. See that heater? That alone cost almost 1200 Yen!

After a good dose of etch primer, the skins are left to dry overnight.

[pan to clock and hands quickly spin 24 hours]

The primer's dry and almost ready for painting. There were a few rough spots so I hit the whole lot with some 1200 grit wet-and-dry. My ink of choice is Rust-oleum Satin White. Down here, this stuff comes in a trigger grip can which gives fabulous trigger grip can-like results.

Two coats later and they're ready for battle. I'll eventually put one more coat on these and the fronts once the project is almost complete.
