Utility Arm Carrier and more skin work

I got the pins I needed for the Utility Arms. Now the Carrier is complete. I deviated from the JAG plans a little on this one. The original plans call for a counterbored hole that a separate bushing sits in on each of the horizontal supports. I did without the counterbored holes and integrated one of the bushings into the pin.

Here's a shot of the pins and bushings and how they look in the carrier without the arms in.

Here's the Utility Arm Carrier assembled. The arms are another fine example of David Shaw's work.

Now that I know it all fits together, it's time to take it all apart for painting.
The arms were etch primed and let to dry over night. The next day saw the top coats go on. While I was at it, the Large Data Port got a dose of R2 Blue too.

You can see in this photo what a difference lighting makes to the colour used. Under darker conditions, the blue is almost black, but under brighter conditions (the bottom arm was closer to the flash here) it's a bright blue and the metallic is clearly visible. Not bad for a rattle can job.

In between coats of paint, the Outer Front skin was under the knife. All of the remaining panels were removed, cleaned up with a file and etch primed.
